The Hub provides three main features to accomplish its aim:
- A Help Desk to field gun violence related inquiries from journalists and researchers
- A collection of Resources for newsrooms to establish best practices and foundational knowledge about gun violence in the US
- COMING SOON! A Data Library of clean, contextualized, and well documented datasets related to gun violence.
The Hub is primarily a news-gathering enterprise composed of journalists and researchers, and it draws heavily from the existing knowledge of staffers at The Trace. We do occasionally collaborate with researchers in academia or private research institutions, but maintain strict editorial standards and independence. You can read more about that and our financial transparency here.
